WAUNETA, Neb. — Gloria Louise (Jones) Sinner was born on Aug. 8, 1931, in Worley, Ky., to Ollie Lee (Martin) and Chester P. Jones. Gloria’s family were coal miners and she grew up and attended school in the coal country of Kentucky.

Gloria met Lloyd L. Sinner while he was stationed in Virginia serving in the U.S.Army. On July 12, 1961, Gloria and Lloyd were married in nearby Toledo, Ohio. The couple settled in Wauneta, Neb., where Gloria and Lloyd raised their two daughters, Donna and Barbara. Gloria was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, cooking and reading.

Gloria was a member of the World Wide Church of God and the United Methodist Church of Wauneta.

Gloria passed away Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2018, at the Wauneta care and Therapy Center, Wauneta. Gloria was 86 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of Wauneta; daughters, Donna Jarvis and husband, Gary of Broomfield, Colo., and Barbara Swaney and husband, Tim of Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren, Nathan Swaney, Matthew Swaney, Joshua Swaney, Amber Jarvis and Cameron Jarvis; and six great-grandchildren, Evan Swaney, Julian Swaney, Alivia Swaney, Lincoln Swaney, Keaton (Jarvis) Allen and Rowan Shea Jarvis.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Colin Shea Jarvis; and brothers, Ernest Jones and wife, Mary Jo, Estes Jones and wife, Eartha, Roy Jones and wife, Delean and Dean Jones and wife, Ginger; sisters, Gladys McLaughlin and husband, Johnnie, Jeweline Johnson, Joyce Inman and husband, Channer, Barbara Sue Jones, Anna Mae Jones and Evaline Jones.

Funeral services for Gloria will be Thursday, June 21, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta with Rev. Gary Hunt and Mr. Paige Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2018, 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home in Wauneta.

Memorials have been suggested to the United Methodist Church of Wauneta and the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center of Wauneta.
