GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — McCook High’s Nick Umscheid has accepted the nomination to coach at the 2018 Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association All-Star Dual on Saturdy at Grand Island High School.

NSWCA members selected Umsheid to be part of an event filled with many top high school wrestlers from across the state.

The All-Star Dual is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Umscheid will join these other select wrestling coaches: Cale Streeter of Hershey, Fairbury’s Derek Garfield, Jake Gideon of Burwell, Jeremy Hlavac from Schuyler and Ray Maxwell of West Point-Beemer.

Gideon’s Burwell Longhorns ran away with the Class D team title in Feburary, scoring 124 points which topped their closest challenger by nearly 40.

Derek Robb, a multiple Class B state champ from Sidney and undefeated last season, headlines the wrestlers picked to participate in Saturday’s All-Star Duals.
