ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Della Fae “Peg” Ziebell, 95, of Arapahoe, died Monday (May 28, 2018), at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.

She was born Jan. 1, 1923, at Republican City, Neb., to John Oscar and Sophia (Buhler) Watts, but raised by her mother and Edward Bengston. She grew up on a farm in Gosper County, Neb. In 1942, she worked at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash. She enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in April of 1944 and served two years, honorably discharged in April 1946.

She married Herbert Ziebell on Aug. 21, 1946. They owned a tavern in Holbrook and later operated a dairy farm east of Arapahoe. She also worked for 25 years at Irene’s Style Shop in Arapahoe.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Arapahoe American Legion and Legion Auxillary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb; son, Steven; sister, Maxine Breinig and husband, Raymond “Bud,”' and brother. Wayne Watts and wife, Beverly.

Survivors include her children, Karen and husband, Irv Walbridge of Edison, Neb., Norma Jean Ziebell of Aurora, Colo., Craig and wife, Leane Ziebell of Ellicott City, Md.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial services are Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Wenburg Funeral Chapel in Arapahoe with the Rev. Becky Saddler officiating. Inurnment is at the Arapahoe Cemetery with Military rites given by Arapahoe American Legion and U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard.

Memorials may be given to the Arapahoe American Legion.
