BEATRICE, Neb. — McCook High grad and two-time state champion Noah Hofman played in the NJCAA Division II tional golf tournament in Foley, Ala., last week.

He finished in third place with scores 72, 69, 69 and 72 for four-day total of 282. Hofman was six strokes under par for the Southeast Community College Storm, just two shots back from first place.

Hofman was national runner-up in 2017 and now a third-place finish. His 282 was only behind South Mountain Community College teammates Leon D’Souiza (280) and Jeffrey Miller (281).

Hofman also earned three national awards at the tournament: West all region team and second-team team Ping all American and — after the tournament — he was was named first-team National tournament All-American.

“Noah was very close to winning it this year. He finished in the dark in one round and then turned it around for a 7 a.m. tee-off,” Southeast coach Bill Campbell commented.

The SSC Storm placed eighth nationally as a team. They were Region IX champs with Hofman finishing first.
