Rattlers romp, Muckdogs rule at Felling Field

McCOOK, Neb. - The B Street Auto Spa Tin Caps watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-1 loss to the Community Hospital Timber Rattlers on Wednesday.

The Community Hospital Timber Rattlers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kooper Rakes singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

They added three runs in the fifth inning. Rakes and Redford Crocker all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Rakes was on the mound for the Community Hospital Timber Rattlers. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Tristan Campbell led things off on the hill for the B Street Auto Spa Tin Caps.

He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out three. Wyatt Benes and Asher Wilson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively.

The Community Hospital Timber Rattlers totaled 12 hits. Jack Baker, Crocker, Caiden Hanson, Rakes, and Tate Schafer all collected multiple hits for the Community Hospital Timber Rattlers. The Community Hospital Timber Rattlers tore up the base paths, as five players stole at least two bases. Rakes led the way with four.

The Community Hospital Timber Rattlers didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Dogs’ day

The R & S Water Well Muckdogs stole the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over the Pfeffer Service Bulls on Wednesday.

The game was tied 3-3 with the R & S Water Well Muckdogs batting in the bottom of the fourth when Brenden Hedrick drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Pfeffer Service Bulls got things started in the first inning. The Pfeffer Service Bulls scored one run on a stolen base.

Gabe Roberts led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the R & S Water Well Muckdogs. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out nine.

Ty Junker was on the pitcher’s mound for the Pfeffer Service Bulls. He surrendered four runs on one hit over three and a third innings, striking out six. Kale Sattler and Joshua Sanders entered the game as relief, throwing one-third of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Roberts went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the R & S Water Well Muckdogs in hits. Reese Gillespie led the R & S Water Well Muckdogs with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six.
