Jersey guard joins MCC basketball team

McCOOK, Neb. —McCook Community College Men’s Basketball has signed 6’2” guard Tyrek Battle-Holley from Jersey City, New Jersey, recently.

Battle-Holley helped the Rams to a 16-12 record in a tough Hudson County League. He averaged 21 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game this past year.

Battle-Holley played both backcourt positions for the Rams, and his senior leadership was relied on heavily this past season.

As a senior, he earned The Hudson (N.J.) Reporter Boy’s High School. Basketball All-Area First Team honors

Indians’ coach Brandon Lenhart remarked: “We are thrilled with addition of Tyrek to our basketball family .He is a guy we have followed all year long and he always seemed to come up big in impact games this season. Tyrek can play both with t We are excited we get to work with Tyrek for the next two seasons.”
