New troopers

Thursday, March 22, 2018
Zane Sackett of Omaha and Amanda Kahny of Osmond are new Nebraska State Patrol troopers stationed in McCook. Both graduated with the State Patrol’s 58th recruit class on Aug. 18, 2017, and say they are enjoying their first assignments. Sackett prefers the smaller city, explaining, “It’s a lot better out here (than in Omaha.) The people are nice here.” Kahny said, “We love McCook. It’s great here. The people are wonderful.” The two new troopers have completed six months of on-the-job instruction with veteran troopers in the field. Sackett and Kahny join Sgt. Joel Smith, troopers George Scott and Ted Gans and investigator Jeff Van Stelton working out of the McCook office.
