MCC blanked by Colby
COLBY, Kan. – The Colby Community Trojans scored four runs in the second inning, five more in the third and went on to a 10-0 win Sunday over McCook Community College.
Colby’s Cameron Tilly provided the big bat with a second-inning homerun. He finished three-for-three, also stroked a double and drove in six runs on the afternoon.
Adam Cook hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to make a winner of Bryce Fraser.
Jacob Lombardelli started on the mound for MCC lasted two innings, and was responsible for nine runs on six hits and three walks.
Jesse Bloom pitched four scoreless innings for the Indians, walking two and striking out three. Connor Williams finished the game on the mound.
Jake Sanford had the only extra-base hit for the Indians with a double. The other hits came from Johnny Giunta, ; Tanner Zeggil; and Michael Sookdeo.
The Indians (2-4) are back at Colby again Monday for a nine-inning game starting at 3 p.m.
On Wednesday, MCC is scheduled to host Northeast Community College in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at the Jaycees Sports Complex.
The game with Hastings JV that was postponed due to weather last week at home has been re-scheduled for March 13 at 2 p.m.
