STRATTON, Neb. — Evan Arthur League was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Haigler, Neb., to Raymond E. and Anna S. (Hawkinson) League. His family moved to a farm south of Stratton, when Evan was a young boy. He graduated from Stratton High School in 1942.

Evan married Louise Virginia Livingston in May of 1945, in Denver, Colo. The couple made their home in Denver before settling in several communities in Nebraska including Lexington, Broken Bow, Fremont and Kearney. The couple, along with their family, moved back to the Denver area in the early 1960s and continued to reside there until present.

Evan was self-employed, starting out in auto body repair. He then endeavored into television repair and sales which became his occupation, owning and operating many different stores throughout the years. Evan enjoyed his family and grandchildren whenever he could and loved flying.

Evan passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 28, 2018, at the Villa at Sunny Acres Care Center in Thornton, Colo. He was 94 years of age.

Survivors include son, Edwin (Linda) League of Thornton, Colo., daughters, Sharon Jolley (Richard), of Arvada, Colo., and LouVan Navarette (John) of Thornton; six grandchildren, Renee, April, Ian, Kevin, Nicole and Rebecca; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Corran, Cody, and Chloee, Adam, and Luke; brother, Kenneth League of Austin, Texas; sisters, Eileen Freed of Wylie, Texas, and Delores Campbell of Longmont, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Ila League of Stratton, Marie League of Porterville, Calif., and Shirley League of Omaha, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; and brothers, Vearl, Bud, Howard, Bob, Mike, Dick, Buck and twin brothers, Ray and Roy.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning, Feb. 3, 2018, 11 a.m. (CT) at the United Methodist Church of Stratton with Pastor Rod Heilburn officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Stratton., Nebraska.

Visitation will be before services on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, starting at 8 a.m. (CT), at the United Methodist Church of Stratton.

A memorial has been established in Evan’s memory.
