No. 1 Tigers tangle with Bison tonight

McCOOK, Neb. — The conquerors of mighty Class B mat powerhouse Omaha Skutt are ready to test McCook’s wrestlers tonight.

“This will be a tremendous opportunity for our wrestlers to measure themselves and compete against one of the top teams in the state,” coach Nick Umsheid said about the dual which begins with JV matches at 5:30 p.m.

Hastings boasts a pair of top-ranked individuals in Blayne Kile at 120 pounds and Damen Pape among 170-pounders.

Connor Laux owns the No. 2 spot at 138, while Bryce Brown brings a No. 3 spot among 113-pounders into McCook High.

The Bison delivered one of their best performances at Saturday’s Buzz Matson Invitational in Oberlin, Kan., with seven medalists.
