Bison heat up in win over Eagles
GOODLAND, Kan. -- On Friday, McCook shot a hot .421 from beyond the arc to defeat Colby, Kan., 58-43 in a Topside Tip-Off semifinal match.
The Bison jumped out to a 34-20 lead at halftime before narrowly outscoring Colby 24-23 in the second half.
McCook had three players reach double figures in the win, and were led by Clayton Stevens’ 19 points. Stevens went 4-of-7 on three-point attempts for a .571 percentage.
Hunter Potthoff and DJ Gross also hit double digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
As a team, McCook shot .400 from the field (22-of-55), while Colby shot .378 (17-of-45).
