CULBERTSON, Neb. —Darell Dwayne Gautier, age 58, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, in Decatur County, Kansas.

On March 20, 1959, Darell was born to Archie Lee and Doris Jean (Edge) Gautier in Fayetteville, N.C. He attended Southview High School, Fayetteville, N.C.

Darell married Kimberly Capps in Denver, Colo., on Dec. 23, 1994.

Darell spent his lifetime as a trucker and he enjoyed it. He loved riding his Harley; he also enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time in his yard taking care of his trees and property. Darell was nicknamed ‘Gnome’ by his friends. He had a very sweet spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. His big yellow lab, Elmer, was his world.

Darell is survived by his wife, Kimberly of Culbertson; daughter, Amanda Gautier and Ted Clendenen of Savannah, Ga.; father, Archie Gautier of Culbertson; brother, Archie “Butch” and Kaye Gautier of Cameron, N.C.; sisters, Rita and Jeff Richert of Hookerton, N.C., Angie and Jeff Peterson of Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Darell was preceded in death by his mother, Doris; and brother, Terry Wayne Gautier.

Visitation will be today unti 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Karr officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
