Paul L. Nunamaker

STRATTON, Neb. — Paul Leslie Nunamaker was born Dec. 15, 1937, at Rimersburg, Pa., to George (Jock) and Viola (Edinger) Nunamaker. Paul grew up and attended school in Pennsylvania and became a brick layer for Harbison Walker Refactories in Templeton, Pa.

Paul married Ruth Veljean Kline on April 18, 1959, at Templeton, Pa., and to this union four children were born: Paula, John, Edna and June. The couple continued to live in Pennsylvania until Paul retired in 2000. They then lived for a short time in Florida before moving to Stratton to be near family.

Paul was a member of the Christian Union Church of Stratton. He enjoyed reading, listing to country music, sight-seeing, and especially loved spending time with his family.

Paul passed away Monday morning, Nov. 13, 2017, at his home in Stratton. He was 79 years of age.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Stratton; daughter, Paula Brown of Indianola, Neb.; son, John Nunamaker and wife, Anne of Wauneta, Neb.; daughter, Edna Jessup of McCook, Neb.; and daughter, June Boyd and husband, Joshua of Stratton; grandchildren, Anthony (Tony) Brown, Joshlynne Boyd and fiancée, Jerod Coder, Natalie Boyd, Philip Boyd and Peter Boyd; brothers and sisters, Helen Kline of Templeton, Pa., Barbara Buzzard of Templeton, Richard Nunamaker of Cochranton, Pa., John Nunamaker of Mill Hall, Pa., Howard Nunamaker of Palatka, Fla., David Nunamaker of Ford City, Pa., Harry Nunamaker of Templeton, Carol Lane of Cambridge Springs, Pa., Petty Trayer of Weedville, Pa., Linda Lash of Kittanning, Pa., Anna Mae Corbett of Kittanning and Judy Fruehstorfer of Kittanning.

Paul was preceded in death by half-brothers, George and Harold (Bud) Nunamaker; brother, Donald Nunamaker; and sisters, Shirley McGurdy and Bonnie Dryfuse.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, 10:30 a.m. (CT) at the Christian Union Church of Stratton with the Rev. Kevin Fink officiating. A private interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Stratton.

A memorial has been established to the Christian Union Church of Stratton.
