Packing Day

Thursday, November 2, 2017
Volunteers crowded into Ann and Dick Trail’s home and garage this morning for the first Adopt-A-Chaplain packing day, preparing shipments of 50 care packages to each of seven chaplains who now participate in the program. This is the 11th year of Ann’s program, which has military officials in the shipping point of San Jose, Calif., incredulous over the generosity of McCook-area people. The care packages will go to military personnel served by two chaplains in Afghanistan, two in Korea, one in Iraq and two in the Navy.

Ann, who will celebrate her 79th birthday Sunday, will ship out these boxes today but plans six more packing days. If you would like to contribute items or money, call (308) 340-3578 or drop them off at 201 West M in McCook.
