Christmas is coming

Bargain Bazaar thrift store volunteer Sandy McConville stands among the holiday decorations available in “Our North Pole,” the Christmas shop in the basement of the Bargain Bazaar in the 200 block of West C in downtown McCook. Santa’s elves at the Bargain Bazaar schedule the opening of their Christmas store each year in mid-October; this year it coincided with Friday the 13th. The shop offers everything Christmas: Trees, ornaments, wreaths, dish-ware, wrapping paper, lighting, clothing, bedding, garlands, crystal, stockings and stuffed toys. Sandy said a popular item this year will be the “Christmas villages.” The North Pole is open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
