CASPER, Wyo. — Richard Michael Cuellar, age 49, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at his home in Casper.

Richard was born in McCook, Neb., to Richard and Elizabeth (Glock) Cuellar on Jan. 30, 1968. He graduated from McCook High School in 1986 and then served in the military; after he served in the U.S. Navy, he went on to receive his RN at the University Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in 1995.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his niece, Caitlyn and nephew, Dylan. He was an Eagle Scout and attended St. Patrick’s School where he was a member of the Squires and McCook American Legion Baseball.

Richard is survived by his father, Richard Cuellar of Nehalem, Ore.; mother, Elizabeth Cuellar of McCook; sister, Mary Lyne and husband, Greg of Alma and their two children, Caitlyn and Dylan; aunts, Juanita Bittner and Sue Rogers; and uncles, Frank Cuellar and Albert Cuellar.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts, Josephine Clark, Margaret Calvio, Veda Gilmore, Delores Doughtery, Kathryn Timura; and uncles, Pete Cuellar, Manuel Cuellar, Joe Cuellar, Robert Rogers, Charles Rogers and John Cuellar.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour as Celebrant. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Neb.
