Freshman Ronnie Quick from London, England, shot 71 in the final round while leading McCook Community College golfers to second overall last weekend.

Quick tallied a team-low 150 for the Indians as their 611 team total was behind only champion and tourney host Eastern Wyoming College (578).

Freshman Cameron Lampe fired a consistent 153 (77-76), Colton Zulkoski dropped 14 strokes off a tough first round (86-72-158) and Brady Rodgers shot 160 to complete the Indians’ team score.

Kaleb Wonderly, a Dundy County-Stratton alum, also competed for MCC and carded 163.

“We had some putting woes with a quite a few mental mistakes,” coach Tyler Loop commented about the season-opening tourney. “But overall, we had a couple of solid rounds.”

McCook High alum Kade Gray played as an individual and delivered his own respectable round of 156 (76-80).

Gray is part of Loop’s MCC Indians golf team.

Eastern Wyoming leader Malosi Togala claimed the individual title with an excellent 69 and 73 to finish at 142.

The Indians are set to play again in another tournament at Riverton, Wyo.
