Cambridge gets two wins at home invite

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- Cambridge went 2-1 at its home invite Saturday to improve to 4-4 on the season. The Lady Trojans defeated Southwest and Rawlins County, Kan., and lost to Red Cloud.

The invite hosts defeated Southwest and Rawlins County in straight sets Saturday.

Cambridge, however, would lose to Class D2 No. 1 Red Cloud 2-0 (25-22, 25-19). The Warriors went undefeated Saturday to push their record to 9-0. In its nine matches this season, Red Cloud has only dropped one set.

In Saturday’s other area matchup, Rawlins County defeated Southwest 2-0 (25-12, 25-15) to salvage a 1-2 record. The Lady Buffaloes are now 8-4, with all four losses coming to Nebraska competition.

Southwest went 0-3 at the Cambridge Invite and is currently 0-7 overall.
