CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Talented Cambridge’s second win of the volleyball season was certainly a well-earned triumph Tuesday evening.

The Trojans needed five extra points to finally top Dundy County-Stratton, 30-28, as sophomore Korynn Clason finally put down one crucial clincher.

“She (Clason) is a solid swinger,” Cambridge coach Margo Kent confirmed. “The girls served a lot better and stuck together.”

Both the Trojans (2-2 record) and DC-S Tigers (2-2) had already played North Platte St. Patrick’s earlier in this triangular.

Cambridge matched the 5-1 Irish through two sets, losing 25-20 and winning 25-20.

Clason crushed seven kills during this match while junior Kaelie Tomlin ripped six.

Senior Kati Moore sent another four lethal shots down to the Trojans’ home court.

However, 25 hitting errors cost the Trojans as those Irish only made 13 official mistakes. The visitors took that decisive third set, 25-11.

Sophomore Shaye Porter still defended the floor well with 10 digs.

Clason and senior Bailee Porter each made eight.

Senior Baylee Miller’s 25 serve receives were another Trojan best.

Senior classmate Bria Tomlin quarterbacked the Trojan attack as he delivered 12 team-leading assists.

No stats were available from the Trojan-Tigers match at press time.

DC-S dropped a 25-10, 26-24 match against the Irish.

The Tigers are now 2-3 this season. They swept two matches at Arapahoe last week.
