OBERLIN, Kan. — Lenora R. Soderlund, 86, died Monday (Sept. 4, 2017), at Good Samaritan Society-Decatur County in Oberlin.

She was born July 10, 1931, on the family farm near Traer, Kan., to Fred and Rose Zecker Wilkening. She attended St. John's Lutheran School south of Traer and graduated in 1949 from Herndon Rural High School.

She married Dale Soderlund on Aug. 7, 1949. She worked as a manager's assistant at Decatur Co-Op Association in Oberlin before retiring.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin. She lived on farms east of Kanona and northeast of Oberlin near Danbury, Neb., before moving to Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Soderlund; two brothers, Fred and Harold Wilkening; and one sister, Mildred Waterman.

Survivors include her husband, Dale, of Oberlin; son, Steve (Jan) Soderlund of Parker, Colo.; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild with one on the way.

Services are Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, 11 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Bradley Rick officiating.
