Spartans, Irish help MNB fill out state field

ALLIANCE, Neb. — The final rundown of Class B’s Legion state baseball schedule before tournament play begins on Saturday.

Remember, the McCook National Bank Seniors (28-8 record) are set to play Malinelli Mechanic Pride from Omaha Roncalli (26-16) at 1 p.m. MDT.

All games will be played on Alliance’s Bower-Shankland Field. Season records were not obtained for every team.

Saturday

First round: Blair Bears (24-10) vs. Nebraska City, 10 a.m.; McCook (28-8) vs. Omaha Roncalli (26-16); 1 p.m.; Wahoo State Bank Reds vs. O’Neill Pinnacle Bank Irish, 4 p.m.; Alliance Spartans (19-17) vs. Gering Platte Valley Companies, 7 p.m.

Sunday

Elimination games: Game 5 — Losers of McCook-Roncalli and Blair-Nebraska City, 10 a.m.; Game 6 — Losers of Wahoo-O’Neill and Alliance-Gering, 1 p.m.

Winners bracket: Game 7 – McCook-Roncalli vs. Blair-Nebraska City, 4 p.m.; Game 8 — Wahoo-O’Neill vs. Alliance-Gering, 7 p.m.

Monday

Elimination games: Game 9— Game 6 winner vs. Game 7 loser, 1 p.m.; Game 10 — Game 5 winner vs. Game 8 loser, 4 p.m.

Winner’s bracket: Game 11 —Game 7 and Game 8 winners at 7 p.m.

Tuesday

State championship game: Game 12 winner vs. Game 13 winner, 3 p.m. Second state title game: Only necessary if two teams remain with lone loss each, follows first final.
