Streets need clearing for Tuesday house move
McCOOK, Neb. — Plans to relocate a West 2nd Street house have been moved up to next week and are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
The homeowner is asking citizens to avoid parking vehicles along the moving route and expect minor delays in accessing homes. The route includes West C Street, from West 2nd Street to West 5th Street; West 5th Street, from C Street to D Street; D Street, from West 5th Street to West 7th Street; 8th Street, the curve by Janssen/Kool Honda; C Street, from West 8th Street to 10th Street; and West 10th Street, from West C Street to West Q Street.
The home is being relocated by Tyler and Hilary Neff from 308 West 2nd Street to a vacant lot on the west edge of the North Pointe Properties development, soon to be known as 1001 West R Street. The move is anticipated to take six hours to complete.
During a City Council meeting earlier this month, city staff indicated the structure will take up the entire roadway and parked vehicles will need to be moved in advance.
