A Cambridge, Neb., man and a Herndon, Kan., man were killed in separate Sunday pickup truck accidents.

Aaron P. Jones, 23, Cambridge, was killed at about 1:08 a.m. Sunday three miles east and a half mile north of Highway 6-34 on Road 399, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Trevor Charles Sattler, 20, Herndon, died of injuries he received in a 3 p.m. accident Sunday two miles west of Herndon.

In the first accident, Jones was the driver of a southbound pickup truck which went out of control and rolled multiple times. He was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Holly Shay Myers, 19, Horace, Kan., was also thrown from the vehicle and was transported to Community Hospital in McCook and then to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Seatbelts were not in use and alcohol and speed are being investigated as a cause of the accident, according to the Nebraska State Patrol and Red Willow County Sheriff’s Office, which are continuing the investigation.

Sattler was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Dylan Curtis Dulany, 17, Phillipsburg, Kan., which was eastbound on Rawlins County Road X two miles west of Herndon.

The vehicle went out of control, left the road to the north, skidded through the intersection at Rawlins County Road 32, entered the north ditch and rolled.

Dulany was transported to Swedish Medical Center in Denver. Neither occupant was wearing seatbelts, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
