MIDDLETON, Idaho — Joyce Elaine Oatman, age 84, of Middleton, Idaho died July 2, 2017, at a hospital in Eagle, Idaho.

She was born on Sept. 25, 1932, to Joshua Samuel (Babe) Ford and Pauline (Volgamore) Ford at Holdrege, Neb. She grew up on the family farm located outside of Beaver City, Neb., and graduated from Beaver City High School in 1950.

She married Patty Lee Oatman in Las Vegas, Nev. on June 9, 1950. They lived in Hastings, Neb., after her husband’s discharge from the Marines. They moved to the Denver, Colo., area where they lived for many years. She worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass, Otis Elevator and a temporary agency until she retired. They then moved to Alma, Neb., until relocating to Middleton to live near family. She was living in a care facility at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Babe and Pauline Ford; children, Cynthia Kohlstedt and Steven Oatman; brother, Willard Ford; infant grandson, (Kohlstedt) and one infant great-grandson, Colf.

Survivors include her husband, Pat Oatman; son, Micheal Oatman; brother, Jerry and wife, Janet; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Ford; daughter-in-law, Diane Oatman; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday, June 12, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Visitation is one hour before the start of the service. Interment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery.
