LINCOLN, Neb. — Lucille M. Kopetzky died Thursday, June 15, 201,7 at the Legacy Terrace in Lincoln.

Lucille Marie Kopetzky was born Nov. 16, 1929, at St. Bernard, Neb., to Ted and Elizabeth (Schaefer) Schroeder. She attended St. Bernard School and received her G.E.D. from Platte College in Columbus. On June 2, 1952, Lucille was united in marriage to Walter H. Kopetzky at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus.

She was a homemaker and worked as a waitress. Lucille was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Perpetual Adoration, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Theresa Sodality, D.A.V. Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.

She was an avid Husker Volleyball fan. Lucille enjoyed doing family genealogy and quilting. She made and gave away more than 50 quilts, many of them were Husker quilts.

She is survived by son-in-law, Carl DeRuyscher of Leavenworth, Kan.; daughters, Kathy (Raleigh) Haas of McCook, Neb., and Julie (Roy) Yardley of Lincoln; sons, John (Patty) Kopetzky of Lincoln and Kent (Amy) Kopetzky of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; brother, Elmer (Lu) Schroeder of Omaha; sister, Eileen Kain of Rock Island, Ill.; and sister-in-law, Louise Schroeder of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Elizabeth Schroeder; husband, Walter Kopetzky; daughter, Jeanne DeRuyscher; granddaughter, Elizabeth Yardley; three infant grandchildren, one Infant great-grandchild; sisters, Clara Schroeder, Lenora Parr and Esther Egger; and brothers, Clarence, Walter, Victor and Alvin Schroeder.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home and Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., also at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Burial is at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
