McCook Pantry volunteers Fran and Dennis Allacher accept a check for $5,655 from Nick Nothnagel, left, and Brian Strauch, coordinators of the first-ever Peace Lutheran Church Community Benefit Golf Scramble, at Heritage Hills in McCook May 27. The tournament attracted 10 teams of four golfers each; it was supported by 58 sponsors. The over-sized check represents 100 percent of the scramble's profits, which the church's congregation voted to donate to the McCook Pantry.
