“The Heart Brings You Back” to Palisade for the community’s annual “Pioneer Days” Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The summer celebration started with a wine tasting and book-signing by Palisade author David Hunt and ended with a community potluck dinner in Krotter Park. Also in the park, Saturday morning, “Survivor Games” attracted Jared and Laken Vrbas, left, who attempted to knock a bottle off of a pole with a Frisbee. Free swimming pulled hundreds to the pool, and 12-year-old Brianna Sramek, below, tried out the high diving board. The weekend schedule also included softball and horseshoe tournaments, a parade, an art show, “Show & Shine” car show, a Saturday night dance and Sunday morning worship services.
