Ellie Senseng, 5, is busy putting together giant foam ‘“tinker toys” Thursday at the Children’s Mobile Museum in McCook. The traveling museum opened Thursday in McCook with 329 people visiting by mid-afternoon, according to Sharon Bohling, one of the local volunteers. The traveling museum includes a 52-foot long, climate-controlled state-of-the-art trailer designed specifically for museum exhibits, surrounded outside with additional play and learning exhibits, manned by local volunteers. The Omaha Children’s Museum partnered with Nebraska150 Celebration for the traveling museum, with visits scheduled in 42 communities. It continues in McCook through this afternoon, then moves to Imperial, Neb., for Sunday and Monday.
