LINCOLN, Neb. — Two supervisors at the Work Ethic Camp in McCook were recognized by state officials for outstanding performance recently. Clarice Shields and Shawn Gollehon were among nine statewide employees of the Department of Corrections honored with “Supervisor/Manager of the Year” awards during a banquet in Lincoln last Thursday.

Shields is the food service director for WEC and Gollehon is the nurse supervisor. The pair was nominated by way of a letter submitted by other WEC staffers and ultimately selected by a Lincoln-based committee.

“It is very rare to have two winners from the same facility. We are very proud of them,” said WEC Public Information Officer Maria Bieker.

Department of Corrections Director Scott Frakes provided the welcome and introduction to award recipients during the banquet, in addition to closing remarks, with Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts among the keynote speakers.
