Bison alum in top five at nationals

MESA, Ariz. — McCook native Noah Hoffman dropped five strokes off his first-round score while leading Southeast Community College in the NJCAA National Golf Tournament.

Hofman shot 69 on Wednesday after firing 74 during Tuesday’s opening 18 holes at the Longbow Golf Club.

His two-day score of 143 is currently tied for fourth nationally with two days remaining.

Southeast Community College is currently tied for ninth in the team standings as Dom Vertuil shares 30th place at 149.

Kyle Murray is tied for 52nd with his 153.

Hofman won the Class B state titles in 2015 and 2016. He also led the Bison to that 2016 Class B team title. Watch for more results on Friday.
