Oberlin pool opens Saturday

OBERLIN, Kan. — The Oberlin swimming pool opens for the season this Saturday, weather permitting, from 1-6 p.m.

Summer hours for the pool are 1-5 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. weekdays; 1-6 p.m. on Saturdays; and 1-5 p.m. with an additional evening swim from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

The Oberlin pool will charge admission this season, after offering free swimming the last two years.

Admission is $2 for swimmers age 12 and younger and $3 for swimmers age 13 and older. This year marks the third season for the $1.9 million City of Oberlin Swimming Pool. The heated Oberlin pool is equipped with two water slides, a diving board, basketball hoop, competitive swimming starting blocks and an elaborate zero-depth toddler area with shaded canopies. The pool also has a handicap accessible ramp and railed entry, in addition to several shallow-depth areas designed for adult use.
