Bison girls share Class B state lead

LINCOLN, Neb. McCook's tennis girls are tied for the Class B state lead entering today's semifinals and final rounds at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln.

The Bison have scored 32 points while advancing five of six players into semifinal matches: sophomore Kassidy Michaelis at No. 2 singles, seniors Lauren Koetter and Kacee Samway at No. 1 doubles; senior Katie Kjendal and junior Syd Thompson at No. 2 doubles.

Grand Island Central Catholic and Omaha Duchesne have also scored 32 points.

GICC will play in three semifinals while Duchesne has two, including a No. 1 doubles showdown with Samway and Koetter.

Junior Cassiddy Beeby dropped her second No. 1 singles match but will continue playing Class B consolations this morning. Watch for more details later in the day and in upcoming editions of the Gazette.
