O'Brien Royals win opener as youth baseball begins

McCOOK, Neb. – The O’Brien Electric Royals defeated The McCook Masonic Bodies Phillies 4-1 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game.

The game was tied at zero with O’Brien Electric batting in the bottom of the fourth when a runner stole home to give the Royals the lead.

Alexander Anthony earned the win for the O’Brien Electric Royals. He pitched four and two-third innings, allowing one run, one hit, and striking out 10.

Jacob Gomez-Wilson recorded the last out to earn the save.

Kolyn Gaston took the loss for McCook Masonic Bodies Phillies. He went four innings, allowing four runs, three hits, and striking out nine.

Kaiden Porter and Tanner O’Brien each drove in one run to lead O’Brien Electric Royals.

Dominic Wheelbarger had the only RBI for the McCook Masonic Bodies Phillies with one.

More Majors league action takes place tonight with the First Central Bank Tigers playing a 6 p.m. game against the Ruggles Angus Cardinals.

The H&H Installation mets and McCook Masonic Bodies Phillies follow at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Minors Division baseball will begin with the High Plains Podiatry Clippers and Roberts Farm Grasshoppers colliding at 6 p.m. Game two features the Tigers Muckdogs playing McCook National Bank’s River Cats at 7:30 p.m. Watch for results.
