ARAPAHOE, Neb. Super close races for both the team and hurdles titles captured headlines at Wednesday’s Jim Mather Invitational.

Southern Valley senior Savana Quinn showed her ability to win great races.

Her 100-meter high victory was by one-10th of a second (16.6 to 16.7), and she matched that feat during the always draining 300-meter intermediates (49.6 to 49.7).

Those wins were among the Gazette-area highlights along with Cambridge and North Platte St. Pat’s putting on a great team title chase.

Cambridge featured individual titles from freshman phenoms Cali Gunderson (800 run) and Korynn Clason (triple jump).

However, the Trojans weren’t competing quite at full strength and North Platte St. Pat’s was ble to take this title.

The Irish scored 108.5 while Cambridge earned second at 104.

Southern Valley claimed sixth place with 32 points.

Arapahoe earned seventh at its home invite. The Warirors placed in multiple events which are shown below.
