R.B. Headley/McCook Gazette McCook’s Syd Stewart went 5-0 at No. 1 singles and helped the Bison JV tennis girls take first in Thursday’s Lexington Invitational.

LEXINGTON, Neb. –

Top two places would simply never been complete without numerous McCook names Thursday afternoon.

Wherever tennis fans looked at the Lexington Invitational, Bison duos were taking either first or second.

They finished 15-0 while winning three division championships, and added a more-than-respectable 4-1 record for second place in the other.

So overall, the McCook JV girls were probably even more dominant than their 16-point victory over host Lexington suggests.

Their 19-1 match record featured only five scores of 8-4 or closer.

A glance at how each Bison placed in this six-team tournament.

They swept North Platte 8-0, beat 8-1 Holdrege and delivered a pair of 8-3 victories (Kearney Catholic, Ogallala).
