Area schools all earn titles at Hoehner

McCOOK, Neb. — No Class C or D area school went home without a girls’ championship during the Leroy Hoehner Invitational on Friday.

The Cambridge girls scored a combined 105 varsity/JV points for fifth overall as senior Alea Shaner won the triple jump (35’1”). Freshman teammate Korynn Clason gave the Trojans a 1-2 finish.

Southern Valley scored 93 total points with senior Savana Quinn winning a 100-meter hurdles championship (17.56). She nearly won the 300 hurdles also, but took second (52.41) behind champion Sable Lambley from Dundy County-Stratton (49.35).

Sable and senior sister Madison Lambley were winning races as expected. Madison won Friday’s 3200-meter run and continues to have a top state time listed on nebraskamilesplit.com.
