ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Janice Gertrude Anna Breinig, 78, of Arapahoe, died March 30, 2017, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1938, south of McCook, Neb., in Red Willow County to Martin and Helen (Potthoff) Keen. She graduated from McCook High School at the age of 16. After high school, she attended Denver Business School in Denver, Colo. She worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper. She married Lyle Breinig on Dec. 14, 1958, at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook. They lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., for a year before moving to Arapahoe.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook before transferring her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Helen Keen; brothers, Elmer and wife, Anita Keen and Warren Keen; and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Harvey Herbert.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lyle Breinig of Arapahoe; children, Lynn and husband, Todd Welch, Randy and wife, Ginger Breinig and Cedonia Hyke and Greg Vanover, all of Arapahoe; brothers, Wallace Keen (Elfriede) of McCook, Cletus (JoAnn) Keen of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Truman (Shirley) Keen of Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law, Doris Rauch (Darrell) of Denver; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Chapel in Arapahoe, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services are Thursday, April 6, 2017, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe with Rev. James Moshier officiating. Interment will be at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe.
