OBERLIN, Kan. Elden M. Anderson, 88, died Saturday (March 19, 2017), at Decatur Health Systems.

He was born June 22, 1928, in rural Decatur county to Carl A. and Olga (Olson) Anderson. He grew up on a farm in western Decatur County. He graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1946 and from Kansas State University in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He married Detta Faye Bryan on Oct. 4, 1952, at Herndon Covenant Church, rural Herndon. He was a farmer/rancher.

He was a member of the Herndon Covenant Church.

He was preceded in death by wife, Detta (Jan. 10, 2017); parents; and one brother, Gordon Anderson.

Survivors include children, Richard (Maureen) Anderson and Gary Anderson, all of Oberlin; sister, Gertrude Anderson Myers of Ontario, Ohio; sister-in-law, Norma Anderson of Oberlin; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 22, 2017, after 8 a.m.

Services are Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Babcock officiating.
