Area pool players chalk up titles

Several area pool players were recently recognized for winning the fall session of the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 8-Ball, 9-Ball and Masters Pool Leagues.

Winning the Sunday 8-Ball League title was Pool Junkies from Franks in Trenton including Jimmy Tyan, Karla Polly, Dave Polly, Linda Tyan, Don Sawyer and Wayne Brunswick.

Sunday 8-Ball MVP awards went to Laura Parde, Shonda Jacob and Brandon Burton.

Burton from Indianola also earned Top Gun honors as the top male 8-Ball shooter in the entire Western Nebraska APA region.

The Monday 8-Ball League championship went to Just Wayne It from TJs in McCook including Tiffany Magee, Kirk Magee, Kathy Jensen, Shelley Ringleman, Bobbi Allen, Jerod Corder, Jenny Tucker and Bruce Hagan.

Monday 8-Ball MVP awards were taken by Jamie Rundle, JD Bradley and Damon Barber.

Claiming the Wednesday Masters League title at TJs in McCook were Mike Powell, Marlin Springer and Al Rothmeyer. Not shown is Mike Goscha.

The Thursday 9-Ball League was won by The Orphans from Bears Cave in Culbertson including Bryan Hagan, Brent Stehno, Bret Hagan, Bruce Hagan, Kathy Haddix, Dan Sattler, Rick Haddix and JD Bradley.

Taking Thursday 9-Ball MVP honors were Bob Funk, Sandy Seybold and Josh Shields.

Winning teams each session advance to the Western Nebraska APA Team Championships to compete for trips to the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas.

The APA Pool League offers its members the opportunity to enjoy some fun and friendly competition with friends, family and co-workers.

The League uses a copyrighted handicap and scoring system that helps insure players of all abilities, including beginners, can compete regardless of level of skill or experience.
