Thursday, March 9, 2017

MCCOOK, Neb. -- Tim Garcia, principal at McCook Elementary, is leaving McCook for another principal position in Colorado.

Garcia has been with the McCook Public Schools for 12 years and made the announcement on his Facebook page. Garcia said he has accepted the position as principal at a large pre K-5 elementary school north of Denver and is making the decision to move as he and his family have always wanted to live in Colorado.

He and his wife, Dawn, and son will be moving this summer. Their oldest child attends the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Superintendent Grant Norgaard said today Garcia is leaving early enough in the year for a replacement to be found for next year.

An agenda for the Monday night's regular school board meeting has not yet been released.
