Harold "Frank" Black Sr.

OBERLIN, Kan. -- Harold "Frank" Black Sr., 77, died Monday (March 6, 2017), at his home in Oberlin.

He was born May 4, 1939, in Alva, Okla., to Harold E and Leta E (McDonald) Black. He grew up in Bethany and Guymon, Okla. He graduated from high school in in 1957. He married Marilyn Snyder on Aug. 1, 1964, in Dodge City, Kan. He owned and operated JR's Used Cars in Oberlin.

He was a member of Lions Club in Iowa, Mini Sappa Antique Club in Oberlin and First Christian Church in McCook, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. and Leta E. (McDonald) Black; infant son, Donald Eugene Black; and sister-in-law, Sherry Black.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Black; children, Frank Black Jr. of Oberlin, Leta (Mark) Meitl of Dresden, Amy (John) Campbell of Hawkeye, Iowa, and Tammi Buelt of Denver, Colo.; brothers, David Black of Guymon, Okla., and Paul Black (Greg Eicher) of Milwaukie, Ore.; sisters, Lois (Arlie) Parrish of Stillwater, Okla., and Carol (Scott) Neighbors of Skiatook, Okla.; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Visitation is Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m., and Friday after 8 a.m. at the church.

Services are Friday, March 10, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Oberlin with the Revs. Rev. Tom Smith and Chris Nelson officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.
