Colorado teams top MCC men

MCCOOK, Neb. -- Fast first halves for both Trinidad and Otero from Colorado led to wins over the McCook Community College men last weekend.

On Friday, Otero was consistent with 44 and 43 points which was enough for an 87-82 win .

The Indians (15-14 record) attempted 14 more shots but couldn't rally with just 38 percent success overall.

Sophomore Brody SHarkey's 23 points led the Indian effort as he hit nine of 10 free throws.

Teammate Lewis Dinakulu did deliver a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Sophomore Draylan Perkins also scored 15 points in the final regular-season home weekend for MCC.

The Otero Rattlers maintained lead thanks three double-digit scorers and two more who netted nine points each.

Others scoring for McCook were Andrew Epps (eight points), Chinedu Okonkwo (seven), D'Von Moore (six), Shevelle Bailey (four) and Torrey Mayo (four).

On Saturday, Trinidad State unleashed a 50-point half first half and then fought off the Indians to win 89-83.

Trinidad shot exactly 50 percent during the fisrt half and also would hit nine three-point shots.

Dinakulu delivered 29 points with Perkins scoring 17, Sharkey 15, Okonwkwo 12 and Moore 10.

McCook also drilled nine three-pointers with Perkins,Sharkey and Moore hitting three apiece.

There were 10 lead changes but McCook couldn't quite overcame falling behind 16. The Indians are scheduled to play at North Platte this week to finish their regular season.
