MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Velma Resseguie, 85, died Feb. 21, 2017, in Manhattan.
She was born March 1, 1931, to Fred E. Weiss and Dora (Johnson) Weiss and grew up in Farman, Neb. She married Donald R. Resseguie on Sept. 30, 1948 in Stockville, Neb. She was a cook for public schools in Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; children, Dennis and Tammy; sister, Sharon Banzhaf; and a grandchild, Danny Arms.
Survivors include grandchildren,Tammy Sock, Clay Center, Neb.; Terry Resseguie, Manhattan; Kelly Canady, Starke, Fla.; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Livanna Banzhaf and Ilene Rockwell; and a brother: Harlan Weiss.
Services will be at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Neb.
Memorials may be given in her name to College Avenue United Methodist Church in Manhattan.
