McCOOK, Neb. -- Controversy over the county-owned Hillcrest Nursing Home promises to continue, with "consider removal of Hillcrest Board Members from Office" listed as one of the items on Monday's agenda for the Red Willow County Commissioners.

A Hillcrest employee, who is also the husband of the administrator, has said he was improperly fired by the board.

Meanwhile, it was determined that while Hillcrest board members are legally appointed for six-year terms, in practice they had been serving four-year terms since at least the 1970s.

The Hillcrest issue is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Monday in the commissioners' room at the courthouse.

Other items include a meeting as a board of equalization, a tax sale, phone service at the Household Hazardous Waste facility.
