McCOOK, Neb. -- Despite Chase County's Cody Williams hitting six of six shots, Southern Valley shook off a slow start and prevailed 53-39 at the Peter & Dolores Graff Event Center Tuesday night.

The Eagles (6-5) outscored Chase, 16-6, during their second quarter for a 25-16 halftime lead. They finished their win with a 16-point fourth period.

No individual stats were obtained.

Williams tallied 12 points to lead the Longhorns while sophomore Braden Space added 11. Senior Ian Maxwell put in six points.

Space shot five for eight from two-point range.

Maxwell hit two of the three long-range shots for Chase County. Freshman Bennett Bauerle drilled one triple.

The Longhorns slipped to 2-9 this season. These teams met in McCook as midway point between two schools more than 100 miles apart.
