Live Nativity

Janice Bamesberger helps set up the manger for new "Live Nativity" presentations this Christmas season in the south parking lot of Peace Lutheran Church, 411 E. Sixth Street in McCook. Janice and her husband, Phil, started after Thanksgiving to build the manger on a flatbed trailer, and Janice has rounded up live animals, including a miniature cow and donkey, an alpaca and a Dall sheep. The re-creation will feature wisemen, shepherds, the Angel, and Mary and Joseph, and a star shining above. The live nativity will be presented at these times: Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., (with a Christmas program for the public from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.) and 7:30 until 8 p.m.; Thursday, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; and Friday, 6 p.m until 8 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the Nativity presentation will be 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., followed by worship service from 6 p.m until 7 p.m. and then another Nativity presentation from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. The church invites all to a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 10:30 p.m.
