Terry Lee Wilson

Oct. 19, 1956 - Nov. 27, 2016

INDIANOLA, Neb. -- Terry Lee Wilson of Indianola went to his final rest with Jesus on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial. He was 60.

Terry was born Oct. 19, 1956, to Charles and Beaulah Wilson in Joplin, Mo.

His early years were spent in Riverside, Calif., until his folks made the move to Gravette, Ark. He grew up and attended school at Gravette Holiness Bible School, graduating in 1976. He attended Faith Bible College in Mitchell, S.D., the next fall and it was here that he met his wife, Marilyn. In March 1978 they were married. They lived in Arkansas, then Iowa, and later in Nebraska in 1980.

Terry worked as a farm hand, also driving trucks for most of his years. In 1986, the family moved to McCook where he worked for Cornbelt Chemical as a truck driver. In 1988 he was diagnosed with a medical condition with his kidneys which led him to be on dialysis in 1990. By a miracle, he was able to have a kidney transplant in 1993. He met his health obstacles over the years with courage and hope for a good outcome. He was happy to be home, to work, raise his family and to be alive.

Terry loved to cook, grilling for everyone, playing games and being with family and friends. Feeding others was his gift. He cherished his grandchildren.

Terry's health problems required extra care the last four months of his life and he was residing at Sunrise Heights in Wauneta, Neb. Here he found more friends, people who gave him special care and went above and beyond to make him feel safe. We give tribute to their outstanding work.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents; a sister, Marlene; and two infant brothers.

His legacy is his family. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Indianola; his three children, Maria Douglas and husband, Paul of Orting, Wash., Leonard Wilson of Kearney and Sherryn Wilson of Indianola; grandchildren, Dominic, Karyn, Tara, Braden, Haley, Ruby and Charles; sisters, Mary Ann Putman of Gravette, Ark., Patty Gruver and spouse, Rodney of Gravette, Ark., Debbie Roland of Roger, Ark.; and brother, David Wilson and wife, Pam of Bentonville, Ark.; brother-in-law, Johnny Farrister; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is today, Nov. 29, 2016, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home until 8 p.m,. with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Indianola Christian Church with Rev. Lloyd Bley officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Indianola.

Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
