Check up on the State Patrol before you go traveling

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

It was expected to be almost 80 degrees today, but while the forecast is in a flux, the reality of November will set in any day now; let's hope bringing some much-needed moisture with it.

We remember many Thanksgiving holidays offering challenging travel conditions, and this year's Nebraska State Patrol focus is "Be Here for the Holidays," promoting voluntary compliance with traffic safety laws.

"Heavy traffic during the holidays is often combined with inclement weather," said Col. Brad Rice, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. "By making motorists aware of our enforcement efforts, we hope to encourage voluntary compliance and avoiding of crash-causing behaviors."

We need to follow the law everywhere we drive, but the State Patrol is giving drivers every possible chance to avoid paying a ticket. Before you set out, if you'd like to know where special enforcement activities are taking place, visit http://bit.ly/2fVD2Xe

Colonel Rice said, "from our family to your family, we wish you safe travel this holiday season.

Help us help you reach your destination safely. Always wear your seat belt and never drive impaired or distracted."
