Promoter Sam Jaeger plans his annual end-of-the-season "Clean-Up" demolition derby Saturday, Oct. 8, on the Red Willow County fairgrounds in the 1500 block of West Fifth in McCook. The pit gate opens at 3 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m.; the entry fee is $40 per car. Competition starts at 6:30 p.m. Drivers will drive full-size welds, no-welds, compact cars, old-school 1990's and newer, and trucks. Cars and trucks must have been in at least one demolition derby. Drivers must be at least 16 years old, with a valid driver's license. Drivers younger than 19 years old must have parent's or guardian's written, notarized consent. Admission to the grandstand will be $10 for adults and $5 for those 12 and under. There will be concessions on the fairgrounds. For more information, contact promoter Sam Jaeger, (308) 883-1177.
