McCook golfers finish third at DCS Invite
BENKELMAN, Neb. -- With four top-seven finishers, Ogallala's girls golf team cruised to a team title at Tuesday's Dundy County-Stratton Invite. The Indians' 'A' team had a team score of 354.
Ogallala 'B' finished second with a team score of 439, while McCook was third with 487. Other team scores were Ogallala 'C' with 493, North Platte junior varsity 'A' with 530 and North Platte junior varsity 'B' with 551.
Dundy County-Stratton and Perkins County did not record team scores, but had golfers at Tuesday's invite.
Kira Mestl of Ogallala won the individual title with a score of 80. She finished three strokes better than her teammate, Harley Hiltibrand, who was runner-up with 83. The Tigers' Payton Zarkowski was third with 87. Her teammates, Hally Waters and Madison Haines, tied for ninth place with scores of 104.
McCook's top golfer was Holly Grigg, who finished fifth with 95.
The Lady Bison conclude their regular season with two conference tournaments later this week. On Thursday, McCook travels to Cozad for the Southwest Conference Tournament at the Cozad Country Club. The Lady Bison will then travel to Scottsbluff on Friday for the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference Tournament.
Dundy County-Stratton will be off until the C-5 District meet next Monday at Ogallala's West Winds Golf Course.
